But Why? To Make The World a Better Place

Hi - I’m Leila. And if you want to get to know me in 10 syllables or less, that’s all you need to know.

Coming from a professional background in music performance, I learned early on that physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, everything rooted in excellence leads from your core.

Your core harnesses the ability to ground yourself in a way that establishes power, inspiration, and intention through everything you do.

In music, that meant simultaneously navigating multiple levels of complexity while universally communicating clear, evocative content through an extension of ones self - the instrument. But outside of music? The instrument simply becomes you. Which leads to the question:

How do you extend you?

Through my years in the technology field, I’ve found my way of answering this question to be through finding clarity in my personal mission - to make the world a better place. When I approach technology in this way, it dictates the opportunities I seize and the actions I take every day. Further, it illuminates the ways I leverage my unique experiences in music to improve the technology sector - through the tech and the people behind it.

So why does community enter the conversation? Because music’s strength is technology’s weakness - community is what binds everything together. Under the guidance of making the world a better place,

I strive to use the strengths in the musical world to make the technical world more diverse, inclusive, and equitable - from inspiration and education through accessibility and employment.

And to do this effectively, it must be led from within. Keeping my why at my core, I consistently search to build foundations and grow roots so future opportunities thrive.
